Our fourth retreat back at beautiful Valle de Vida, we’re so happy to be working with much loved teacher and Chaya resident, Aquila Rose. This special retreat will focus on cleansing and balancing you on every level.  With an asana practice, alkaline menu and wellbeing food workshops all especially designed to support you in detoxifying, relaxing and toning from the inside out. And meaning you will leave informed, enlightened, stretched cleansed and toned – ready for summer and the rest of your year.

We have designed an incredibly balancing and cleansing week of practice led by much-loved teacher Aquila Rose, where guests will focus on a 2 hour dynamic flow in the morning and a 1.5 hour yin style restorative session in the evening. There will also be pranayama (yogic breathing techniques), meditation and yoga nidras.

Aquila has been practising since 1997 when taken to Varanasi, India by her parents where she studied yoga alongside them from the age of 8. Throughout her teens it became a way to keep sane through the turmoils of growing into herself and understanding the world around her. After being rejected from her first YTT aged 19 she went back to the drawing board and explored the strange world of the London yoga scene.
Finally completing her qualification in Ashtanga Vinysasa over three years ago she began to teach at Stretch in East London and travel across the country and internationally to teach retreats and workshops. She has taken additional training primarily with Stewart Gilchrist and Amanda Denton and also with Ana Forrest, Manju Jois and Paul Harvey. Now she splits her time between heading up a yoga studio in Dorset, Yogaspace and workshops at Stretch in London.

She teaches with compassion, humour and pure dedication to the tradition and where new research and learning is taking us.

The yoga shala at Valle De Vida is really nothing short of epic, with cool breezy panoramic views across the Spanish hillsides.Varied accommodation options comprise of choice of beautifully appointed tipis, ‘me-pods’ and a traditional Spanish finca. The valley is secluded and d entirely private, with a pool, a sauna and steam room and also a hillside hot tub for starry night bathing. The open-air dining area, surrounded by bourgainvilla which looks out to the valley, creates the perfect communal space for eating, relaxing and workshops. This really is an awe-inspiringly magical place.

Our week’s menu will focus on alkaline-forming therapeutic ingredients, to support total cleansing and wellbeing. Alkaline-forming foods are essentially the easiest for our bodies to digest and to take the maximum amount of nutrition from. If our diet is over-burdened with acid-forming foods such as red meat, caffeine, dairy and wheat, our body’s are required to work extra hard in order to re-balance the natural acid-alkaline balance. To do this, it uses minerals and nutrients stored in bones and tissues, meaning over time we can become depleted and prone to illness.

Chaya founder Lucy Hill, is a wellbeing food coach and teacher and has been a student of nutrition for a number of years. Alongside running retreats, she teaches workshops and private groups, with a focus on how to feel great through what we eat - and how easy it can be. She will bring her knowledge, passion and understanding of wellbeing food to the retreat; ensuring a completely balanced and nourishing, not to mention tasty menu. Guests also have the opportunity to take part in a 2 hour wellbeing food workshop, covering some of Lucy's favourite tips and recipes.

The week's menus will refer to the pillars of a therapeutic diet, to best support you during retreat. With daily juices and homemade vegan mylks, two nourishing and delicious 50% raw buffet style meals per day, raw snacks and unlimited fruits and herbal teas...
